What We Heard at the “Fresh Wind” Congregational Summit

Dear Grande Prairie Church of Christ,

Your elders, board and staff (aka the Ministry Lead Team) deeply appreciated your participation in the summit process on Oct. 18.   Many thoughts and opinions were shared about our successes, challenges, passions and opportunities as the Grande Prairie Church of Christ at this congregational gathering.

See below for the outline of what we believe we heard!

“Fresh Wind” Summit Results

The following is a summary prepared by the elders team for your review

1. Oct. 18 revealed a positive spirit & energy among the congregation.

2. We discovered concerns:

      a) Quick action is needed to meet the needs of growth in children’s ministry at Mission Heights regarding space & volunteers, and at Highland Park with regards to volunteers.

      b) We need to focus on development and mentoring of non-staff leaders and volunteers regarding:

            – numbers

            – stability

            – gender

      c) We need to be in a good place financially

      d) Renew our understanding of the multi-site movement  including:

             – philosophy

             – alternative services

             – building usage

3. The next steps are:

     a) The board has directed teams be formed to address the needs in children’s ministry and leadership.
