Unit 6, Session 2: The Tabernacle Was Built (Preschool-Gr.4)
This week, we continue our journey through the Bible using The Gospel Project® for Kids and we will be learning about Israel following God’s very specific instructions on how to build a tabernacle. The people gave joyfully and generously and God equipped them to construct the place where He would dwell with them. We no longer need a tabernacle today because Jesus came to “tabernacle,” or dwell, with God’s people.
Help your kids worship God and thank Him for His gift of Jesus and that through Him people can dwell with God forever.

FLYTE: Why Should I Eat Healthy? (Preteens)
Our culture sends mixed messages to preteens every day. On one hand they are bombarded with marketing of unhealthy junk food and fast food. At the same time, preteens hear that to be attractive, girls have to be ultra-thin and guys have to be muscular. Put together, the message preteens hear every day is “Eat bad food, but be thin.”
It is no wonder preteens struggle with their weight and diet. Some are overweight and would do almost anything to be lighter. Others are at a healthy weight but aren’t satisfied and want to be thinner. Some make unhealthy choices in what they eat and are malnourished. Others log every calorie and gram of fat they eat out of fear that they will become overweight.
The goal of this session is to help preteens maintain healthy lifestyles but still experience the freedom to enjoy foods they like in moderation. It is important that preteens understand that God designed food for both their health and their enjoyment.
The Bible study this week examines the vision God gave Peter that declared all food to be clean. Until then, God had commanded Israel to abide by strict dietary regulations that limited what they could eat. The primary purpose was to set His people apart from the Gentile nations around them and to teach Israel about purity. When God rescinded the dietary laws, He was mostly illustrating Jewish and Gentile unity in Christ; however, we can also use this passage to discuss healthy, grace-saturated eating.
Pray. Ask God to give each preteen a healthy perspective of diet and weight.
