THE GOSPEL PROJECT: Unit 1, Session 5: Noah and the Ark (Preschoolers- gr.4)
Thank you for continuing this journey of The Gospel Project® for Kids. This upcoming week’s Bible story is about Noah and the ark. By the time Noah lived—10 generations after Adam—people had stopped following God. In fact, Scripture describes the terrible situation: “Man’s wickedness was widespread on the earth … every scheme his mind thought of was nothing but evil all the time” (Gen. 6:5). God was right to punish this sin. He decided to send a flood to cover the earth and destroy everything. God graciously chose to save one man and his family, so he warned Noah about the flood and told him to build an ark.
When the ark was complete, God’s judgment did come. The floodwaters covered the earth. Every living thing was destroyed, but Noah and his family were safe inside the ark. God rescued Noah’s family—the family His own Son would be born into. Jesus would warn of God’s coming judgment too, but instead of condemning the world, Jesus would give up His life to rescue sinners. Pray that the Lord would help you clearly communicate the gospel to your children. Pray that the Holy Spirit would lead them to receive Jesus, who rescues us from God’s anger toward sin. (1 Thess. 1:10)

FLYTE: UNIT 2: Understanding God’s Design for Physical Development (Preteens- Gr.5/6)
For the next four weeks, your preteen will be using the LifeWay|Preteens FLYTE curriculum to learn what God says about change, specifically about their changing bodies.
The preteen years are a time of significant physical change and preteens have lots of questions and concerns. God’s Word has the answers kids need! These Bible-based sessions will lay a foundation for preteens to build upon as they move through this awkward yet amazing season of life.
We agree that parents should be their child’s primary source of information on puberty and sexual issues. We believe this Bible teaching unit will be an excellent supplement to what you are doing at home. Most parents are uncomfortable talking with their kids about these personal issues, so on our curriculum Web site (http://www.lifewaypreteens.com) you’ll find tips, Web links, and recommended reading to better equip you with accurate information to confidently answer your preteen’s questions.
The Bible studies are designed to help your preteen understand that God planned for each of us to change from children into adults. That growth involves different physical changes for both boys and girls. That’s why boys groups and girls groups will be separated for detailed discussion.
Here’s what your preteen can expect:
Session 1: Why Is My Body Changing?
Bible passage: Ecclesiastes 3:1-8; Jeremiah 1:4-10
Session 2: How Is My Body Changing?
Bible passage: 1 Samuel 1:20-28; 2:18-26; 3:1-19; 7:13-17; 8:1-3
Session 3: How Can I Cope With My Changing Body?
Bible passage: Proverbs 3:1-12
Session 4: Why Do I Care What People Think of Me?
Bible passage: 1 Samuel 17:12-58
Thank you for the privilege of partnering with you as we work together to help your son or daughter navigate the preteen years. God has great things in store for your amazing kid!
