Unit 1, Session 1: God Created the World

Dear Parents,

Thank you for beginning this journey of The Gospel Project® for Kids. This week will begin a three-year chronological study of Scripture. Every story in the Bible is a small piece of a much bigger story—God’s redemptive story. Sin would enter the world and affect everything, but God already had a plan to show His grace to people through His Son (2 Tim. 1:9). The Bible says that God began His plan to rescue people from sin before He even created the world! (Eph. 1:4-6)

In this upcoming Sunday’s Bible story, children will learn that God created the world out of nothing. Every wonderful and beautiful thing God created, He spoke into existence. God created the world and everything in it for His glory. Jesus was present at creation, and all things were created through Him and for Him. (Col. 1:16-17)

Family starting points:

Babies and Toddlers
God made everything.
Everything God made was good.
God is in charge of everything He made. Why did God create the world?

Pre-Schoolers:
God created the world for His glory.
God created everything.

Elementary:
Why did God create the world? God created the world and everything in it for His glory.
God created everything for His glory.

These are all BIG questions that the BIG KIDS will be tackling over the next 4 weeks. This week they will be discussing “What is Heaven?” Kids will be learning that Heaven is neither boring nor simple! God is at the center of heaven, so how can it possibly be boring??
