Daily Reflection – Philippians 4:6-7

Troy is helping us kick off our series of Daily Reflections with some personal thoughts around Philippians 4:6-7

Philippians 4:6-7

Titus 3:6-8

God poured out richly upon us that Holy Spirit through Jesus Christ our Savior.  Being made right with God by his grace, we could have the hope of receiving the life that never ends.

This teaching is true, and I want you to be sure the people understand these things. Then those who believe in God will be careful to use their lives for doing good. These things are good and will help everyone.

Galatians 5:13

“Beloved ones, God has called us to live a life of freedom in the Holy Spirit. But don’t view this wonderful freedom as an opportunity to set up a base of operations in the natural realm. Freedom means that we become so completely free of self-indulgence that we become servants of one another, expressing love in all we do.”

– Galatians 5:13

Love Authentically

Love others well, and don’t hide behind a mask; love authentically. Despise evil; pursue what is good as if your life depends on it.  Live in true devotion to one another, loving each other as sisters and brothers.
Romans 12:9

“Every good gift comes to us from the Father of lights. He is consistent & won’t change His mind or play tricks in the shadows.” James 1:17

Thankfulness

O Lord, sometimes I feel so weak and timid. But then I lift my eyes to your face and You fill me with strength and endurance.  Why would I fear for you go before me everywhere I go.  Thank you that You are my Guide, the One who stays beside me every step!  Thank you that You are leading me!

Deuteronomy 31:6 = So be strong and courageous.  Do not be afraid and do not panic before them.  For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you.  He will neither fail you nor abandon you.

Romans 8:6-8

Romans 8:6-8

5-8 Those who think they can do it on their own end up obsessed with measuring their own moral muscle but never get around to exercising it in real life. Those who trust God’s action in them find that God’s Spirit is in them—living and breathing God! Obsession with self in these matters is a dead end; attention to God leads us out into the open, into a spacious, free life. Focusing on the self is the opposite of focusing on God. Anyone completely absorbed in self ignores God, ends up thinking more about self than God. That person ignores who God is and what he is doing. And God isn’t pleased at being ignored.

— The Message

Confidence

And hope does not dissapoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.
Romans 5:5
