The final reflection of Scott’s 3 part thoughts on Faith, Hope and Love. Sometimes It takes endurance to see the results, so keep going! 1 Thessalonians 1:3
Traps to Avoid
For what do we give thanks today?
Love God With All Your Very
Love the Lord your God with all your very. This is not the typical way we hear this verse, but it is a request to give out of the excess of our beings. What muchness do we personally have that God is calling us to serve Him with? A question that is difficult to answer, but important to ponder.
Same Mission But Not The Same Parts
As Chris reads 1 Corinthians 12: 12-28. he is reminded that we are certainly not all the same but we have the same mission. God has given each of us unique roles and gifts in order to bring about his mission. We must remember that we are a part of a body, HIS BODY, and that we need each other to carry out his mission.
Philippians 2
Chris reflects on Philippians 2 and the call to be humble and seek the interests of others. In light of Alan’s call to Love God, love people and achieve the mission, how can we humble ourselves and seek to lift each other up? How can we lay aside our grumbling and angry words and bring life and shine like stars in a world flooded with darkness?
Weaker Brother
Who is my weaker brother?
Often we see ourselves as the mature one in the relationship. This puts the responsibility on our shoulders to put in the work and for what it takes to create the space for relationship.
Song- Abba (Not the band)
Dave shares a song based around the word “Abba” a word which carries a lot of meaning for him and he tries to bring into all aspects of his life. How can we learn to call “Abba” (Father) as we seek to know our Heavenly Father more and more.
Take a Minute to think about it
As Chris shares an experience here had on social media, he asks us to consider our motivation in how we respond to people. Are we treating others with the dignity they deserve as image bearers? How also can we become more productive and effective in our faith?
Triunity
Where can we find ultimate community, perfect unity? We can see it in the triune God and the fellowship that exists in it. We as believers are invited into that unity by the blood of Christ as he invites us into the Father’s presence and pours the Holy Spirit into our lives. We are made into a family as we become God’s heirs through Christ.
Called to One (Jesus)
Chris shares a though from Ephesians 4. We are called to live as Christ’s body in unity. That we acknowledge that Jesus is the one who gathers us, the one who unites us and binds us together. How can we reach out today to demonstrate that we are one body united under Christ?
