Worship

Joining together to encounter God

As Christians, though every aspect of our life is an offering to God, gathering to worship as a faith community is of special significance. We come in response to God’s invitation; through Christ we praise our Father by the Spirit. As Spirit community we celebrate creativity in worship.

Praise the Lord, O my soul; all my inmost being praise his holy name.
Praise the Lord, O my soul and forget not all his benefits.
Psalm 103:1-2 NIV

community

Community

Participating together in the life and mission of Jesus

In Christ we are bound together as one. This bond transcends any barrier of personality, ethnicity, gender, or socio-economic force. We are one for the accomplishment of Christ’s mission of bringing all people into a loving relationship with Him. Our mutual commitment to Jesus, each other, and His mission forges a community found nowhere but in the church.

As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.
John 20:21 NIV

embodiment

Embodiment

Living Christ-rooted lives of grace, truth, and hope

As God’s people we are being shaped by the written and living Word into the image of Christ. By the Spirit’s transforming power, it is our privilege to express the gospel in who we are and what we do.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
Colossians 3:16-17 NIV

benevolence

Benevolence

Caring for those who are marginalized

Our desire is to be the healing balm to the nations. We have the privilege and responsibility of providing special care to those our society overlooks. We are called to pursue personal and corporate opportunities to enact God’s love and concern for any people in need whom God brings into our lives.

The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight to the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.
Luke 4:18-19 TNIV

Evangelism

Inviting others to join us on our journey toward Jesus

A commitment to a lifelong pursuit of Jesus is not a small or easy decision. We are dedicated to helping people come to know Jesus, turn the leadership of their lives over to Him and yield to the transforming power of the Holy Spirit, as we do the same in our lives.

Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
Matthew 28:18-20 TNIV
